Random things:
1. I just realised that I have heaps of black tops in my wardrobe. I'm a pink person remember?
2. I don't need to drink to dance the night away. Actually, I don't really like the taste of alcohol. SERIOUS..!!

4. I always forget to make New Year Resolutions and when I do, New Year is light years behind me.
5.I'm born on the 27th of April, which makes me a Taurus but I'm not that stubborn as you think a Taurus would be.

Part 2: Cousin's Wedding
Close cousin of mine got married last weekend.
Saturday morning, I went to Taipan to get my hair done. Wanted to get it done when I got back from Australia and before CNY so I could have nice hair but somehow, was it got postponed until last week.
At least I got nice hair for the wedding dinner.
Before hair makeover:

Roots and ends got different color and because I bunched my hair up earlier, my hair was kinda wavy. I like the waves though.
After 3 tedious hours of washing, bleaching, enduring horrendous dye smells, tingling scalp and blowing:

Ta da..!!! Nice hair with bright colors..!! The gal who air-dried my hair made it sooooo straight..!! NICE OR NOT..??? CAN ONLY GIVE COMPLIMENTS YEAH..
See the person behind me with parts of hair sticking out of the plastic cover? That's my cousin's gf getting her hair highlighted. I was like that a couple of hours earlier.
Went for buffet dinner at aunt's place, stinking of hair dye. Got a few stares from aunties and uncles all around and something very embarassing happened to me.
As I was chomping away happily on my fried dumpling, my dad brought an elderly man over.
Naturally, he's a relative of mine, but the thing is, I haven't seen him in years. Seriously. Every year during CNY or whatever festive seasons, I would see the wife and sometimes the cousins but the last time I saw him was when I was still in high school = more than 4 years already.
So I greeted him with "Hello, Uncle." To my utmost horror and dismay, my brother said: "WHAT UNCLE..!?!?!? He's 'Yee Zheong'(mother's sister's husband) la..!!
Oh my goodness gracious..!! Embarassed to the max can or not..!!!
Sometimes, I just wished that my memory would not fail me at times like this.
Went for yum cha session with friend and at 7am, kena diarrhea until the next day at the wedding dinner in Sunway Lagoon Resort. Suay la.
Sunday: Some Chinese Ceremony and Traditional Wedding Dinner
Chinese people right, got dem a lot of traditions and things to do, steps to follow during whatever thing wan. CNY cannot this cannot that. Wedding also the same.
First thing in the morning, we go to cousin's place to wait for the bride 'come' into the house. This woman (known as 'Tai Kam Jie) that knows what to/not to do during wedding ceremonies follows her and tells the bride and groom what to do.
First, they burn incense for the entire house's Gods, such as Kitchen God, Earth God, Kuan Yin, ancestors and what not. The smoke was so thick that everyone's eyes was tearing.

Here is my cousin and my newly-acquired cousin-sister-in-law bowing to one of the m any gods/ancestors with incense.
The, comes the tea drinking ceremony. The tea is some special mixture boiled with dates and dunno what else. The tea has to be sweet because it's a happy occasion and normal Chinese tea will not suffice.

That's my dad accepting the cup of tea offered by the bride.
Every aunt, uncle, cousin and family member who are of the elder generation has to sit (in order, grandparents, then grand aunt/uncle, parents, aunts+ uncles, older cousins, lalalala) while the bride and groom offers them tea and gets jewellry/angpau (red packets filled with money) in return. And these red packets are nothing like the ones I get during CNY. Confirm got like a couple of hundreds in them, minimum. The jewellry sure like close to thousand wan la.
The younger generation like me and my bro will have to greet and wish them then we get ang pau also. Not bad la. Hahaha.

Baby bro getting angpau from my cousin. See the aunt in that flowery top with that big grin on her face? That's the Tai Kam Jie. She's in almost every pic and she shows up on my camera at the wrong times.
Then photo taking session.

That's my extended family, and this is only this aunt's side. Got like 20,000 other family members and kids and dunno who else.
Then the bride and groom goes upstairs and the Tai Kam Jie will order 2 young boys to hop onto the bed and start jumping, for what reasons, I dunno la. Will find out next time when my other cousin gets married in September/October.

That's my cousin/the groom standing there, I think he's very irritated and tired by now. Sure wanna just lie on the bed and go sleep. Sumore got very irritating kids jumping on his bedm sure dem boh song wan.
The next step is when the younger of the boys punches through a traditional potty/urinal sealed with red paper and takes out an ang pau for himself while the Tai Kam Jie lifts 2 mandarin oranges from the potty. I think the Mandarin Oranges represents testicles of their kids cuz the VERY traditional Chinese like boys wan ma.

I think the potty is dem cool. Haha.
Finished for the day. Then everybody eats buffet lunch again and go back to get ready for tonight's dinner.
Dinner also dem a lot of things. And technically, the bride and groom never does get to sit down and eat, cuz they're just walking around and 'layan-ing' all the guests.
And since this post is getting kinda long, and the weather is so stiffling hot, I shall cut it short and leave the dinner pics for the next post.
Here's one of the many pics at the wedding dinner. Give you a taste of my new look :)

Baby bro and me. I think I look dem fair, I dem like. *GRINS*
Enjoy.
